He is more ready to give than we are to receive

I've been reading A. W. Pink's little (but beneficial) book Profiting from the Word . The following meditation from Hebrews 4:16 , on how the Word of God should impact our prayer life, struck me with particular force and, I think, speaks for itself:

Freedom and delight in prayer are stimulated by the consciousness that God is, through Jesus Christ, willing and ready to dispense grace and mercy to suppliant sinners. There is no reluctance in Him which we have to overcome. He is more ready to give than we are to receive.
