Editor's Notes
In our last issue, I mentioned that my wife Emily was in the hospital; so I feel now I should give an update. I am thankful to report she is now at home and making progress in some areas but is still in need of prayer. We thank you for remembering us.
As we approach Thanksgiving Day, we should be reminded that the importance of giving thanks is emphasized throughout Scripture. Too often we take the daily mercies we enjoy for granted and fail to specifically give thanks for all the Lord gives us. As we look toward the end of this year let us review the many blessings we have received, and give thanks.
"O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever" (Psalm 107:1).

In this issue of The Baptist Witness, there is a focused call to prayer. It is prayer for the mighty work of God in the salvation of sinners and the advance of His kingdom through the gospel. Scripture makes it clear, God must do this work. It also makes clear that we must pray. God is glorified in His work, and He is honored in the fervent petitions of His people asking for His work.
