What the Resurrection of Jesus means

Go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead. Mt. 28:7

1. It means that God keeps all his promises. Acts 2:25-32; 2 Cor. 1:20.

2. It means that the punishment that sin demands has been fully and completely paid for by Jesus Christ for all who belong to him. It is finished! Jn. 19:30.

3. It means that death no longer has any ultimate claim on all who belong to Jesus. Death is dead and our own resurrection is assured. 1 Cor. 15:20; Rev. 1:18.

4. It means that Jesus is Lord and Christ. Acts 2:36; Rom. 14:8-9.

5. It means that God is for us and no one can be successfully against us. Rom. 8:32-34.

6. It means that Jesus is who he said he was: the Bread of life (Jn. 6:35), the Light of the world (Jn. 8:12), the I Am that I Am (Jn. 8:58), the Good Shepherd (Jn. 10:11-14), the Resurrection and the Life (Jn. 11:25), the Way, the Truth, and the Life (Jn. 14:6), and the True Vine (Jn. 15:1-5).

7. It means that Jesus has been exalted above all things as head for the church. Eph. 1:20-23.

8. It means that all who belong to Jesus have been raised with him and made to sit together with him in the heavenly places. Eph. 2:6-7.

9. It means that all spiritual gifts have been obtained for the edification of the church. Eph. 4:8-16.

10. It means that those who belong to Christ will forever inhabit a New Heavens and a New Earth and will enjoy never-ending, ever-increasing joy in the presence of God. Rev. 21.
