God wins
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord. Prov. 21:30
Of course this verse is not saying that no one seeks to apply their knowledge and wisdom against the Lord or that people don't band together to take counsel against the Lord and against his Anointed (cf. Ps. 2!). When I was in school, I knew a young mathematician who said that he wanted to prove that God doesn't exist. He was a smart guy (certainly much smarter than me), but I don't have any confidence that he will ever be successful. And that is what the proverb means: there is no wisdom or understanding or counsel that will ever be successfully against the Lord.
Another way to put this is that the gates of hell will never prevail against the church (Mt. 16:18). And although the wicked seek to apply all their intellectual resources to throw off God's rule, the reality is that the wisdom and understanding and counsel of the Lord will stand in the end. Of him and through him and to him are all things (Rom. 11:36).
Christian, what this means is that you will never be on the wrong side of history when you are faithful to God's word. Don't despair at the appearance of the triumph of evil, for whatever gains it makes, they will be short-lived, especially in light of eternity. Read the book of Revelation: God wins. And live in light of that reality.
