God heals the broken in heart
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. Psalm 147:3-4
It should warm our hearts and steady our souls to know that the one who binds up the wounds of the brokenhearted is the same one who tells the number of the stars and calls them by their names. It tells us that though God is high yet he has respect to those who are lowly. Our diminished states do not pass by unnoticed by God, nor does he consider them to be unworthy of his attention. He knows our needs; even those we dare not tell to others. The secrets of the heart that cannot be whispered and those formless shadows which are the dark depressions of the soul are fully known by God. And he reaches down to heal us and to bind up our wounds.
God not only knows but he is omnipotent. There is no problem that we can present before the Lord our God that is beyond his ability to solve for his glory and the good of our souls. He heals and he binds up. He is the Good Shepherd who cares for his sheep, proven for all time in the sacrifice of the Son of God for them. God has given us Christ; he has given us the greatest of all gifts, and shall he withhold anything else for our good?
