Profitable for Doctrine

It is not uncommon today to hear someone say, “I feel overwhelmed.” That expression of frustration can spring from a variety of problems, but often it indicates confusion because a person feels to be without direction, they don’t know what to do when facing some important decisions.

In a time when an abundance of information is readily available not only from the printed page but from television and the Internet, and when counselors of every stripe are ready to give their input, it is reassuring to know that we have one reliable source for the truth we need.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
