Great Joy

“And the angel said unto them. Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people” (Luke 2:10). “Great joy!” We live in a world where there is much sorrow, so it is a wonderful blessing when we can focus on something that brings us continuous joy.

The angel of the Lord came with the best news possible, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).”It was good news and it is still good news today.

Jesus Christ came to save sinners; so if you know you are a sinner it is a message of great joy. Because He came to this earth born of a virgin, died at Calvary, and then arose from the dead; the saving grace He gives to fallen sinners is sure.

May we all find special joy as we give attention to the Saviour’s birth; and rejoice in His finished work. If you are one who does not know where you stand; remember Jesus’ words, “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37).
