Your Kingdom Come

Jesus – in precious, child-training fashion – teaches us to seek first the kingdom of God and of his Christ, including in our prayer life: "your kingdom come."It is a personal and intimate prayer on one hand, for God to make our own heart His occupied territory; and it is global and multi-generational on the other hand, because God's kingdom is clearly bigger than just our little corner of the world.Not only then is the name of God to be hallowed, but we are also to pray that God's desires, God's will, God's purposes, and God's authority come first in our lives, and everywhere else.
