Prayer As Children Coming To Their Father

"Ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8:15)“We cry.” This is not just rote quotation of a catechism lesson; this is not mere mental affirmation of the truth of divine adoption. This is our heart-cry to God: “Daddy, Father!”Christian believers are adopted into the family of God through faith in Jesus Christ. As children of God, then, the Spirit of God brings us to cry out to God as our Father. We come to the point of realization of our neediness, and of confidence in our relationship with God because of Jesus Christ.This is us crying out to God directly, personally, affectionately, urgently, confidently. This is us coming to God, in prayer, as children come to their Father.
