But God Remembered Noah

"God remembered Noah" (Genesis 8:1).

This is the turning point in the whole six-chapter Flood narrative. In the midst of all the destruction, there was salvation; in judgment, there was also grace. And now grace will prevail where the waters had prevailed before."God remembered." This biblical expression carries with it the idea, not of recalling something forgotten, but of actively refusing to forget or be careless concerning a person or thing. God had promised to bring Noah through the flood, and God is acting on that promise.God’s judgment had fulfilled its purpose, the Flood waters had prevailed and washed away wicked humanity from off the earth. Where God has been undoing the very Creation with his overwhelming judgment, God now begins to re-create in a sense.
