The Fall of Man and the Mercy of God

As we read the events in Genesis 3 unfold, we cannot help but feel as sense of gravity, of dread, of piercing sadness.

The fall of humanity in the garden is the reason we now have world wars, child abuse, loneliness, disease, and poverty. It is the reason death is universal to human experience. And it is the reason we no longer have unbroken fellowship with our heavenly Creator.So as we consider Genesis 3, our goal should be to grieve over sin afresh, to fight temptation harder than ever... and to run to God as the only solution to the deadly human condition.
