Confessions of a Connoisseur
/

A connoisseur is, according to the dictionary, "a person with expert knowledge or training; a person of informed and discriminating taste." Solomon was a connoisseur of life's pleasures. Solomon, one of the richest and smartest men who ever lived, had everything… and he tried everything in order to find happiness. The book of Ecclesiastes is the remarkable memoir of his experiences "under the sun", without God. And he sums it all up with this one word: "vanity", or emptiness. It is only when we consider earth, and life, and death, and humanity from the perspective of God’s purpose and providence that we finally find a reason to live, to study, to work, to go on.Listen then, and be warned by, these confessions of a connoisseur.
