Abraham's Blessing Is Passed On

The remarkable story of Abraham, which began in Genesis 11, over one hundred years before, finally comes to its inevitable conclusion in Genesis 25 as Abraham dies. Will God's promised blessings continue after Abraham? We see that this is certainly the case as Isaac becomes Abraham's heir, prayerfully intercedes for his barren wife, and -- Abraham-like -- is blessed to miraculously conceive. But when twins are born to Rebekah, we have to wonder: through whom will the lineage of the Promised Seed continue? We are reminded, yet again, of God's power at work to bring about the promised Redeemer... and of our responsibility to trust in Him.
