God’s Word Is a Fire

“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29).

Never has the chaff-consuming, rock-smashing power of God’s Word been more desperately needed than it is right now, in our counterfeit-seeking, stony-hearted age.

And yet it is increasingly difficult to publish the gospel of Jesus Christ, to fan the flame of God’s Word in our culture. We have all seen the global financial crisis affect the resources that we, as Christians, have available to support the spread of the gospel. Every radio ministry has felt the severe crunch of the past few months, and some have already even had to fold, after years of faithful service.

While we continue to trust and rest in the sovereignty of God over every trickle and flood of culture, we do not want to see these troubled times dampen the fire of God’s message. Like Jeremiah, God’s Word is burning in our hearts, shut up in our bones, and we desire to see a forest fire of truth ablaze in this age.
