Glory to God In the Highest, pt 2

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14).

It was a multitude of angels that sang this great song.

An angel had said to the shepherds, “Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” And then a great number of angels joined in to sing, “Glory to God in the highest.”

We see in the Scriptures that the angels delight in praising God, they delight in observing the workings of his grace, and they delight to do his will.

Then we consider the message. Glory is given to God because the Savior is born, glory to God because he has sent his Son, glory to God because he is the Savior — not just one of many saviors but the savior, and not just one who attempts to save but does save by his wonderful grace.

The angels sang about Christ and we should imitate them. He should be the theme of our songs, the subject of our sermons, the object of our praise and the channel of our prayers.
