“It is I; be not afraid” (John 6:20).
We first look at the disciples journey in the storm. Jesus had compelled them to get into the ship. He would teach them in the storm just as he often teaches us in the storms of life.
Next we consider their unfounded fears. They feared because Jesus had not come with them and they feared the storm itself. But they were ultimately comforted as Jesus came walking on the water and, upon entering the boat, stilled the wind and the waves.
And finally we see their safe arrival. With Jesus on board they quickly arrived at their desired destination. We learn that Jesus is able to get us where we need to be and finally take us home to be with him.
