“He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
There are three things we look at in this passage. First, the blessing of eternal life. Eternal life is a gift, not something that can be earned and it is a present possession which shall be enjoyed forever.
Next we see the spiritual resurrection. Man by nature is dead in sin but the life-giving voice of the Son of God brings life.
And finally we see the physical resurrection. You will some day be raised from the dead unless you are living when Jesus comes back and are caught up in the air to be with him. There is the resurrection of life that is to victory and glory. And there is resurrection of damnation for the wicked. Those who are in the resurrection of life are identified by the fact that they are believers and that they display good works.
There’s a great day coming!
