About three years ago I preached a message based on the question, “Where are your children?” Three of the years you have with your children at home have passed. The moral climate in our country has continued to decline. What have the last three years been like for you? Have you spent more time with your children? Have you been prayerfully bringing them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?
“Where are your children now?” I preached this message on Father’s Day last year and issued a challenge to fathers.
First, a challenge to wake up. Wake up and recognize the significance of the battle in which you are engaged to give your children biblical guidance.
Second, a challenge to make a decision. Joshua set a great example when he declared that “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
Third, a challenge to train and teach. This is a responsibility that cannot be delegated. May you fathers today accept this challenge and look to the Lord for the wisdom and strength you need.
