The entire globe is feeling a financial crunch. I recently received an email from a pastor in Russia whose church has suffered about 20% unemployment for the past six months. Times are tough, gas prices are high, the economy is down, and you may be too.

But, as Jesus reminds, us: Life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment” (Luke 12:23). Hard economic times can have the desirable effect of making us want to be better stewards of what we have and of shifting our gaze to things that can’t be effected by crooked CEO’s or declining IRA’s.
