O For A Thousand Tongues
The theme for our anniversary month this year was borrowed from the well-known hymn O For A Thousand Tongues. We have put together a collection of classic hymns and spiritual songs, by the same title, that extol our great Redeemer’s name.
This is the theme song we have used on the Baptist Bible Hour for many years and so it is very familiar to all our listeners. Charles Wesley was inspired to write the hymn when a friend expressed his spiritual joy by saying, “The Lord has done so much for my life, had I a thousand tongues, I would praise Christ Jesus with every one of them.” These words have stirred the hearts of the Lord’s people now for over two centuries.
Psalm 147:1 says, “Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God.” Believing the greatness of God, singing the greatness of God, declaring the greatness of God should be an important part of every Christian’s life.
Our goal with this beautiful new collection of hymns is, as always, “that your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ.”
