“His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power” (Habakkuk 3:3-4).
The prophet recalls what God has done; that His glory covered the heavens. As we examine the passage we see that God is holy and He is powerful. In His holiness He hates sin and by His power He sends judgment because of it.
Verse six also tells us that His ways are everlasting. All His works and providences are according to His eternal counsel. He rules and overrules for His glory.
Throughout the Old Testament we see God’s servants looking back at what God had done as a reminder that He could handle whatever they faced at the present. Let us not forget that He is just the same today. Opinions about God may change, but He is still the same.
