“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all” (Philippians 4:23).
As Paul pens the last words of this wonderful epistle to the church at Philippi, his expression is rich and full of meaning. What a wonderful theme is grace! Grace indicates that although we are unworthy, we are given something we don’t deserve. Grace reveals the truth that salvation is of the Lord from start to finish and that it includes not only His saving mercy but the daily benefits He bestows on us.
The book of Philippians begins and ends with the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and it is mentioned over forty times. While the theme of joy permeates this epistle, it is in Jesus Christ and by His grace that this joy is found.
